Mission and Vision How do you know that there is a need or demand for Black Men and Fatherhood? Separated Black fathers complain that they are not able to navigate the system in order to maintain contact with their children when relationships break up. Many Black fathers feel strongly that the media portrays a false negative image of Black fathers. Statistically a higher proportion of Black children are in one parent households. Media has portrayed Black Men as being bad fathers and the system makes it difficult for Black Men to play an active role in the parenting of their children, This project aims to highlight the many good examples of Black Men as fathers to statutory agencies such as the Justice system, Social Services, Education departments etc and influence the prevailing media perception, provide information, build their knowledge base and give encouragement to Black Men and their families on the rights and responsibilities of fatherhood through panel discussions and from professional Black Role Model and leaders in the field drawn from the community throughout England. My desire is to meet the need to affect change in the attitude of the significant minority of Black Men who find it easy to disrespect women and neglect their parental responsibility they have towards their children. What will the Black Men learn? Black Fathers will benefit from gaining development of personal parenting skills. Which intern will lead to positive change in the Media and the legal system towards Black Men and Fatherhood. Black Men and Fatherhood: Objectives and Community benefits.
